Buying for a Derby fan?

What do you buy the Rams fan who knows everything?

Over 1,000 questions to prove they don’t.

Whether you’re buying for yourself or looking for a birthday present, Christmas gift, Father’s Day present or Secret Santa, the Derby County Quiz Book is for Rams fans of all ages.

Test yourself at home, challenge your mates in the pub, pass the time on the coach or train to an away game, or get it out at Christmas and find out which generation of the family really knows the most about Derby County.

And if you don’t fancy keeping score, just dip in and read it.

How it all started

Sitting down after dinner during the Christmas period in 2025, a father and three grown up sons were testing each other on Derby County trivia, as well as throwing in a few reminiscences. Favourite away game (Leeds play off away leg for all of us), best player ever seen (different players from different eras came up here) and plenty more.

It was a really fun evening, with the internet providing a source for many of the questions and, just as importantly, checking the answers when we couldn’t agree!

The idea of putting all this competition and fun into a book came up and it was decided that we should create one, but if we were going to do it properly, it had to be the best. The Derby County Quiz Book was born.

Researched and checked

What we thought might be a fairly quick project turned into seven months of research.

AI and search engines were useful starting points, but we quickly discovered they couldn’t always be trusted. So questions and answers have been checked using multiple sources, AI fact checking, human fact checking and customer testing, with Gerald Mortimer’s Complete Record providing invaluable help.

With over 1,000 questions covering more than 140 years of Derby County, getting the details right matters.

We hope we’ve produced a book that tests even the most knowledgeable Rams fan, brings back a few memories and, whatever your score, teaches you something about Derby County that you didn’t know before.
